When I saw this horse put through her paces it was a truly inspiring display of power, elegance, and determination, of pure beauty. I tried to demonstrate those qualities in this painting. Confucius said “Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it”. Perhaps capturing this moment helps us to do that.
